Life of the party! But took my friend from me

My friend can't hang out anymore because he spent all his money on cubes and the only time I see him is when he comes to parties to show off his cubes. Luckily everyone loves them and has hours of fun playing with the cubes. They calm even the most irritable people at parties and bring everyone a sense of peace and joy. Unfortunately their awe at my friend's cubing prowess causes them to further fund his cube obsession and every time I see him he has more cubes, but this also means that every time I see him I get to see a new, larger, more elaborate shape made of cubes than I did last time.
